Sorry about being all crazy, I guess the shock of everything has finally caught up to me. I'm my aunts at the moment, since at home there's no water or power. There's a hole in the roof of the living room, so right now my uncle and neighbours are covering the roof with tarpaulins. There's also lots of sand volcanoes everywhere, which I can see little kids playing with (d'aww).

Currently at my parent's house are: my parents (2) me and my sister (2) my sister, her husband and their chihuahuas (5), a family friend and her mother (2) ANOTHER family friend and her mother (2) and my aunt and uncle are on the way. Does someone want to add that up for me?

Just to let you know I've heard from Adele, she and Bill are ok, as are their family and pets.

I'm so glad so many of you are able to check in. I grew up in Christchurch (Avonside and New Brighton) and moved back for a short time and have heaps of friends there.

I am worried for all those without power and water.

I have heard from Ben, he must be O.K. cause he was checking on me. (And Mandie.)
I have not heard from Serah or Emma or Emma (RMD/ZPK) or Milly or Snow, or cyren but ZPK and Serah and Olli have posted on FB. I'm gonna check ZPK/Olli/Serah soon.

Power and water is on now in Bryndwr. Little if any damage here. Cracked one window.

Um, advice is to boil all drinking water. And do not flush your toilet, otherwise it will end up on a street in new brighton. Also avoid calling cells if you can, as it will drain the batteries in the cell towers. For those without water, or with structural damage listen to the radio. They are thinking of bringing in water tankers to several points, and setting up Evaucation centers in Linwood and Aranui and Mairehau High Schools. But listen for updates before assuming anything.
Food wise I know from my time in the red cross that the supermarkets will try to open. Lack of power will not stop them. They do view themselves as part of the emergency response..

Rang mum up at 5:30am, and she asked what I was doing checking on her at that hour. You didn't feel the earthquake in Blenheim?

Thank goodness the aftershocks have almost stopped.

Now to wait on the cat to decide to come back.

My cellphone has been ringing itself 'off the hook' with status updates from friends down in chch x_x good to hear most people seem to be ok though... (if you can call all the damage that happened ok...)

I'M GLAD EVERYBODY IS OKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.
We felt it down here in Dunnaz. Well, I did at least. xD Was laying in bed, all sleepy at around half past four when my damn ornament starts clicking away(the bottom of it isn't flat, so it makes noise whenever I shut my draws or something). Didn't register, bed starts making noise. Didn't register, then all of a sudden my bed starts shaking. Hobbled sleepily over to the door, put my ornament on the ground to stop it being so noisy.
Didn't even cross my mind that it could be the big one. And I am so ashamed to say that I didn't think of anybody. =/ Even when I got back into bed. /Hangs head in shame

But as soon as I got up, I read a txt from m4 and master chaos, which then started the ball rolling and here I am, freaking out about you all and hoping you're all alright.

yea avonhead is okay as far as ive seen this morning, got woken up at 4:35 by the shaking and sound of things falling but couldnt see nothing only realising that the power was out cos the night lamp wouldnt turn on >< groped around in the dark for robe and jacket cos it was freaking cold, luckily my bro just got bac from his night shift at the casino (he later wondered about the fate of his other workmates who where still there and some big chandeliers??) anyways he apparently just got home, had a shower and heated some food up when it hit. so he barges into my room with his night vision goggles (limited gifts from a game he got lol) cos he cudnt find his flashlights- got me to help him light up his vintage oil lamp (lol) and then helped my caged incense oil burner (can take the lid bowl off cos not putting any oil on to burn) lit. and while i grabbed a water bottle and my handbag that just like had everything (keys, cellphone, etc) in it i heard him yelling in my mum's room to wake her up cos she apparently was ready to go bac to sleep when he went in O.o um told them to switch off main power supply just to be safe and we all went out to the end of the drive way where no falling trees or pole cud get us >< but i must say it was one of the most un-nerving experience becos it was like pitch black, freezing cold, car siren going off somewhere in the background, and only saw neighbours by floating lights in the darkness D=

us and neighbours checked around and txted around for half an hour, then got mum to back the car down to the spot and we sat there until her friend in the area txted her to go pick her up cos she had locked herself out <.<
were told by some lady's son's txt saying to go fill out every bottle/tub cos water was being cut in 2hrs by the maintain ppl company think that was around 6/ 6:30ish ...(dont think it ever did happen tho)
anyways some of my mum's hanging/ not hanging pot plants suffered, and most of our wine glasses died and i got nipped on a pinky when cleaning them up, and found out power is bac =) but no signal on cellphone or sky etc, mum went to check out the local temple and brother really needed some sleep, i havnt slept since cos im too nervous about all the aftershocks @_@ kinda watching over for now

I only just got power back! Still no news about water though. sad

We have a different water system at our house where the water is only heated as we use it. (It gets super-heated as it comes through the tap to whatever tempurature we have it set to). This means we don't have any water and I had to rinse my teeth after brushing them with Mountain Dew and Listerine haha... xD Both my cats are fine which is good, one was missing this morning, and we have a few broken bits and bobs around the house, and our garden is all torn up, other than that we are well and safe! :) I have a few pictures that I'm uploading. Some of the links might not work yet but they will all be up soon.

oh yes and my bro's big tv fell off and smashed onto his dvds which amazingly all survived and especially the monty python one with it's cover partially smashed to pieces, so he now reveres monty python even more XD

I woke up at 11:30ish and checked my phone.

Text, at 4:35ish from Lavi saying something about an earthquake waking him up.
Text, 5amish from Lavi saying that the power was out.
Text, 10:30amish from Azeria saying Lavi was okay and that his power was back.

And my reaction was "... What's the big deal?" And THEN I checked stuff. Did NOT expect that OTL. If I hadn't received those texts I prolly would have been panicking OTL

But it's great news that no one has died, and only like, three people have had server injuries (including the guy with the cardiac arrest).
