We'll see what Spotlight has when I go in.
It's my parents paying for it all with their credit card. Mum's happy for me to get whatever I need to get it done, but it's dad that has to sign the little piece of paper. xD;;; He's not ENTIRELY pleased with me taking all their money, but he pays anyway. My parents rock. <33

Do either of you know what Spotlight stocks..? In terms of sculpty clay stuff, like what Father Nightroad said, or the stuff in the tutorial?

Aren't sculpy those tiny little packs of modelling clay that come in different colours about $5 each? I'd say you'd be best getting Air or Paper Clay, and if there's an emporium you can get to definitely check that out, they should have much cheaper alternatives to what Spotlight will have.

I'd love to peruse multiple shops to see what my options are, but mum will only take me to Spotlight, and I don't want to push their goodwill by braying that I want to go to other places. x.x

Um um um so this isn't quite a response to your direct question, but I noticed you said that you were planning to get brown vinyl from Spotlight to make his suspenders and stuff out of, and I'd quite like to warn you against it DX
Earlier this year I made Crisis Core Zack and I used the thickish brown vinyl that you get on the circular rolls and it is hell to work with. HELL! It came out looking messy and ugly because of the resistance my sewing machine put up and the person it was for ended up wearing Zack without them (because I hated it so much Razz)
On the other hand I made his gloves out of a much softer black pvc and they came out really nicely, but I've never seen pvc at spotlight. I know where to get brown pvc in Wellington XD But that's probably not very helpful.

If you think you can make it work then go for it! But from personal experience the brown Spotlight vinyl didn't really work for me.

Good luck though! Yay Crisis Core ^.~

xDD Thanks for the warning.
I've been wondering how I'll get my sewing machine to work with it. I'm thinking maybe just like, super glue or hot glue or something... Do it that way.
For the little things that look like they've been stitched, maybe I'll just do some shallow cuts with a sharp knife....
Where there's a will, there's a way!! But I don't think I'll risk my poor little sewing machine on it. xD;;;;;;

Btw, can I see piccus of the Zack? 8D Zack is love. <333 xDD

Also, I think I'll just buy some cheap leather gloves from a second hand store, if I can find some. xD;; Especially as I wouldn't have a clue where to begin for making them, and what to make them out of. /n00b still

I highly recommend buying gloves Razz I hate making gloves so hard. I made two pairs of them for WellyGeddon and more swear words came out of my mouth over those than anything else. Well.. Maybe Aerith's dress. Stupid blue ribbon XD

I think hot glue is a good idea. Fabric glue does not work! There was a certain amount of hatred over that also. So don't even try it Razz

As for the photos there's one here Linky but due to my failing with the stupid suspenders it looks a little odd. The buster sword is worth looking at the photo for all on it's own though X3

Edit: Ok that link isn't working.. But if you go into his gallery and then look at his cosplay and events folder there;s a Zack pic in there XP

Wooooooaaaahhhh!!! That's a big sword. XD Overcompensating, mebbeh....;D ;D I keed, I keed. <33 That's an awesome cosplay, tho, even with some stuff missing. xD

Fabric glue hadn't even crossed my mind. Hot/super glue all the way! xD
You reckon super/hot glue would work fine enough? ^-^ Lol for taking the easy way out. But hey, if it works, why not?! XD

Buying gloves shall be the way to go. It just means that my boots, belts and gloves won't all be the same colour(unless I look long and hard, of course). But nobody is going to be that picky, surely? xDD (Excpet me, of course, who will frown at the mis-matching colour until I correct it, whenever that may be)

Also OMFG THAT'S A HOROHORO IN THE BACKGROOOOUUUNNNND!!!!!!! /Fangirls

HOKAY!!! I bought some Air Clay today at Spotlight! I also bought some brown vinyl to make the belts! Unfortunately I have no ball to mould the armor on, so it's going to be pretty sugar honey iced tea when it's all dried. HOPEFULLY it won't look TOO bad.
Also, I got.... Uhh.... Yeah. xD I have no scissors or craft knife to cut out the belts, so really all I can do is the armor, which will still take 24 hours or so to dry.

Ooohhhh my life sucks when it comes to cosplay. I HATE COSPLAAAYYYYYY. Btntrly. <3

EDIT:
Err.... I've just realised I posted twice in a row. SORRY GAIZ!!!

Another edit!!
I finished his scarf. I encountered problems originally, but I puddled through them and now it looks great! ^-^ 8DD
Still working on his belts. I bought some little dome-y type things that you hammer through stuff to sorta button them together. I was just originally going to glue the tops of the domes to the belts, but I think I may have a go at actually using the button things to hold the belts together. 8D It'll be much less messy than glue, and this way I can undo them, other than just using the belt buckle that will be at the front. ^-^
I'm happy!! <333

^Ohh i used the hammer in domes for Zack's too. They go through the leather really easily and are great for getting on and off! They are super love.

I'm so looking forward to how this turns out. Crisis Core! <3

8D 8D 8D His belts are nearly finished!!! ^-^
Strips of vinyl. I put them through the sewing machine one layer at a time, just to get the little thread things that are visible on the actual harness, so that's all good. I've domed most things together, with bits of the vinyl past it to glue down for extra sturdyness. I jusst need a belt buckle so I can finish the do-up bit at the front, and to get somebody to help me with the back, how it crosses and goes down and stuff. But it's nearly finished! ^-^ You shall have to tell me what you think when/if you see it. ^^

I also got the armor done okay. I'm just need something to slather over top to make it shiny and to stop the paint from wearing away... Any suggestions, anybody? =D

That's for lightnings shoulder armour but it would work exactly the same for cloud just with a different pattern and it's really easy to do too as well as moulding to your own shoulder.
