ok PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NEVER TAKEN ANY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS BEFORE and this was really my first time working with a DSLR so please critique me. i do know the photos are a bit fuzzy though, because i was having funkytimes trying to get the right shutter speed, but yeah. PHOTOS. BEAUTIFUL MODELS.

I like how you played with the angles instead of just taking straight photos. I had no idea that was your first DSLR funtiems! Pretty good for a first go, considering the conditions. I would have had no idea what to do, still wrapping my head around everything I need to do/change ><;

Ohh ^~^ pretty cosplays are pretty! Like the experimentation of angles. There's something about the first shot composition that makes her look short/squashed in the frame though.

I LIKE ANGLES. except i have no real method for going about doing it, lmao. i did do a bit of fstop stuff but apart from that i was totally noob.

plus my camera wouldn't take photos under the M setting, they just turned out so superexposed they were just white...

I like the photo's! They're heaps pretty and stuff!
But maybe less so with the extreme angles? Speaking only for myself, I dislike having to tilt my head so much to look at a(VERY PRETTY) picture. But that's just me. xDD

I actually really like the first shot composition, Lucy. X3 One of my faves, actually. And the last one of Jess and myself.

I think you got these from a great position too. I'm a big fan of how soft the light and colours look in this.

But just a little critique > < The poses seem a bit stiff/static :'3 I mean, it's okay for a couple photos but maybe more variation would be cool > <

oh, i only got a few shots because my camera died-- they did do quite a lot of poses if you check out sylvie's full shoot of them. <:

@kylie; I LIKED THE FIRST ONE TOO IDK it just felt like it was spaced right. but then again i'm a photography noob! /squishes

hrm. i thought angles were more like a different perspective on something rather than physically tilting your head to look at things the right way up? or is that not how it works?

I think the angles are interesting but a little too extreme, possibly. It works in the third one, but the second one is too much?

I think the easiest way for me to explain is to give an example -

With it as it is now, it's such an extreme angle that it almost looks like the photo's the wrong way up. With the example I did, I reduced the angle by about 40˚, so it still looks like you've got the cool/interesting perspective thing going on, but it's no longer confusing about which is the correct orientation of the photo. /my two cents

In any case, I do love these photos - I really love the warm tones on them. >w< I only wish your camera didn't die so you could've gotten more. ;o;

the photo is the wrong way up. 8D it's supposed to be 90 degrees cw, but i thought it was more interesting like that so i left it. but rotated, it would probably make more sense.
