So I'm planning to make this:
Spoiler:

And because I haven't done this kinda thing before, I was wondering whether you paint the pattern on the fabric before or after making the outfit. Help please? Also any fabric painting tips would be helpful too! >>

Afterwards - it's way easier to paint something when it's flat, although if any of the design runs over the seams you might have to do a little clever marking to make sure they line up when you sew.

1. Cut out pieces
2. Mark seam allowance around the edges where the garment will be stitched together..don't paint there because it will be hidden.
3. Mark out the basic lines of the design with tailors chalk
4. paint Very Happy

If you have a repeated design you can make a stencil with ohp film or duraseal- I've found this works pretty well.
