Hm... Mine was a spontaneous decision a week before D.O. '09 to cosplay Deidara there x.x Not sure why...
But I'd actually bought a Namine bookmark from Tammy 2 years (or was it one year..) before c: Her store was so lonely back then, awwwwwwww > <

Joey's voice actor (YGO, awww yeaah~~) on the 2004 Auckgeddon ad, I couldn't go, goggled it.
Went "meh what the hell, lets enter the Wellygeddon cosplay comp!"

I saw the ad for Auckgeddon '08 on TV so I googled it. Saw there was a cosplay comp so I thought there'd be hall cosplays too (I was influenced by american cosplays >>).
I quickly put together a Yuuki Cross cosplay cause I was obsessed with it at the time, grabbed a friend and went.
I wish I discovered CNZ before then and not like straight after geddon ;A;

A friend who knew I liked Death Note a lot asked me if I'd cosplay Misa (it was just after the anime finished so about 3 years ago), at the time I actually had very little idea what cosplay was because outside of watching anime and reading manga I didn't have anything to do with fandom. I then 2 months later using a wig I had from a dance costume and a costume I'd made using left over fabric from dance costumes (wasn't a wear anything gothic and claim it's Misa, I'm so proud of myself) wore it to a Death Note Marathon we had.
Thus began my tale...

My mum made my sister a Raichu outfit when she was in Year 1 for a Junior school production :B My first unofficial was Rika from Digimon Tamers (because she's kick-ass) in Year 5 when I didn't know what cosplay was, my first official was Reno to VGL (2007).

It all spirals downwards from there...

Well... My mum made me a mickey mouse costume when I was 3. I still have it~

other than that my first time was cosplaying cloud strife (very bad cosplay!) for my 16th birthday? Maybe it was my 17th...
My first time cosplaying and actually knowing it was cosplay was for the first Chchgeddon as Winry from FMA. What good times~

My first cosplay was Axel from KH2 but it was terrible and WE NEVER TALK ABOUT THIS AGAIN. That was at the end of 2006.

Then my second cosplay, and my first one for a convention, was Alphonse Elric from the FMA movie, and that one was actually half decent. April 2007; CHCHgeddon.

lol well, before I knew what cosplay was I closet cosplayed Misty to see Pokemon the First Movie XD My mum wouldn't let me out of the house in a tank top though, so I wore a sleeved top. We also dressed up as sailor scouts for a school presentation thing and I made a Cheshire Cat costume for book day etc.

But official cosplay? Just before DO '08. I'd watched the cosplay contest for years at Auckgeddon, but wasn't confident enough to do it myself. After finding the forums, I got the confidence and help I needed to start! Admittedly, my first cosplays were really bad and mostly bought, but I had fun. First contest was Auckgeddon '09.

I first cosplayed in 2005. 8D
I was influenced by the internet and the americans haha. So when I found out that a cosplay contest actually existed I jumped right in.
I cosplayed as Kagome from Inuyasha - complete with bow and arrows. XD

Im hoping to find the people who entered the contest in 2005, actually. I really want to know who the group of nice people were... they helped a shy little 12 year old in the contest~ Shout out to the Raven (Teen Titans) cosplayer! I still remember you! WHO ARE YOU? D8

My friend pretty much asked me to cosplay Suiseiseki to her Souseiseki, I had no idea what was going on at that time so I went along with it since some of our other friends had cosplayed before.

Technical first cosplay was random cat waitress thingy at DO 07. Official was Auckgeddon 07. I met Tammy first and scared her at DO. I then met Duckeh (at Auckgeddon 07 because we were from the same series) and the rest is history. <3

I started in 2002, at Wellygeddon. I was just getting into fandom at that point and didn't knowwhat cosplay was - I just saw the ad for the contest in the ad pamphlet and decided to enter. I picked Amazing Nurse Nanako, because of a piece of art I found in the pamphlet, and that was actually the worst idea ever omg. My mum helped make the costume and I can't believe she let me wear it! When I was researching the costume I stumbled on cosplayangel.com (which sadly is no more) and got into it from there. The next year I brought all my friends and made all their costumes, and that's how I got into cosplay. And commissions! I WAS SO BAD SOB

My first cosplay was Ichigo (Tokyo Mew Mew) at Wellygeddon '08. I had no idea about Armageddon before that, my friend told me about it & that there was a 'cosplay' competition, & I already was big on entering comps with my sewing so I whipped up an outfit!
