I like the last two! But yeah, your cropping is a bit awkward, there's lots of bits cut off that look like they aren't deliberate. I think the colour works better than the black and white though, you need it to bring the images to life properly. I really love this whole idea, it's fantastic Very Happy

I like the first one, it's the most eye-grabbing for me. The others don't seem sharp enough to me and kind of fall flat. Have you sharpened in PS?

Is that . . RainerTachibana (sp?) on dA ~? Looks like.

My favourite has to be the first one, it has real nice lighting and colour even though the bottom cropping looks awkward-ish.
Like the B/W one too, except it comes off a bit blurred ~?

I think if you cropped it like this it would look more deliberate. Remove the specks and play around with the colors to create a polished finish.

I disagree entirely; the negative space in the original cropping creates visual interest. Cropping it into a square just turns it into a facebook profile pic imho. sweatdrop

The model could be a little better anchored within the space though - I do agree that she floats a little currently. Usually when this happens I try to crop so the model fits in a grid - perhaps if she was two thirds the height of the image and one third the width? Ionno, I'm on my phone so I can't really test it out.

thanks for your input :3 but i'm with JVCA with this one.
Negative space is my... 'signature' shooting style if you can call it that haha. Cropping a photo into a square like that does feel like a myspace picture, honestly.

To be honest, i'm just snap happy (meaning I just take whatever, without really thinking about it) - so i don't really know about cropping, but what I do know is that I love wide blank empty space. I've only really started taking photography this year hahahaha. Yeah, I suck.

I agree with JVCA - that square cropping brings you closer to the subject but it looks awkward

i really like the negative space. ;^; it gives you more chance to focus on the subject and looks far more original than the other cropping.
