I don't have any first hand experience with body paint but I did manage to dig this thread up over on the RPF about it that seems to have some info

Nearer the bottom are the more informative posts and there's a couple of links in there too.
I'll have a poke around and see if I can dig anything else up...

I've always had Kryolan Aquacolour or Ben Bye pigments recommended - both available from minifies, AND oh my god they are now being sold in the Life pharmacy in the James Smith centre! I went in there the other day looking for hairdye and just about died of shock! How much of you needs to be grey? Just face/arms, or tummy and legs too? I'm not sure on what quantities they come in, and I imagine they'd be pricey.

You do need a sealant as well to stop it rubbing off - I hear hairspray works, but I'm no authority! Michaela has mentioned the moisturizer+acrylic thing before as well, so definitely have a chat to her about it :)

James Smith has been stocking Kryolan Aqua colour for years now. I'm pretty sure the size tub you'd need costs around $30-40 (my friend and I have both bought it for projects over the years.) If you do not have an airbrush then the best form of application over large areas is a sponge and paintbrush for areas of detail. What colour is the tattoo? Best way to recreate it accurately is to use a stencil and apply with said paintbrush. (I know this is what the 501st Legion (Star Wars re-inactors) use.)

If you would like any further help in regards to this - feel free to PM me.

I suggest Ben Nye/Kryolan ANYTHING over Aquacolour. If you get in the rain with Aquacolour, you are done for. It has a bad tendency to sweat off if you get hot, too.

The paints made for airbrushing are really good, and like Huntress said, work really well with a sponge! They're usually very opaque, and both brands have a great range of colours.

Yep, hairspray works pretty well as a sealant. You won't necessarily need a sealant if you use a decent body paint- especially with the ones made for airbsuhing, they dry like a dream- but it never hurts to be careful. Remember to moisturise about half an hour beforehand, anywhere that's going to get painted, and use a moisturiser that doesn't leave any residue.

But yeah, Ben Nye or Kryolan, man. You don't want it flaking off and getting nasty like the cheaper body paints do.

I've used Kryolan Aqua color but I had real trouble getting it thick and even, however that might be my lack of skill rather then the product Very Happy
