This is the Kingdom Hearts/ Final Fantasy / Disney Group for the Auckland Armageddon Ball 2010.
- Message to Cosplay New Zealand Mods- Made this new topic, to be able to update and can't update the old topic due to it belonging to the old closed down profile, plus this a chance to not only organize the cosplayers but also the dance and the dance partners, permission to make topic from JVCA. (:

Important update Due to the original dance being really difficult to learn as a group we decided on something more simple. It's now changed to the FF8 dance Waltz to the moon. It's no longer One Republic. Apologies for any hassles if you have spent the past few weeks practicing and learning the original dance. ~ maka~

Due to people dropping out and dancing partners being left isolated doing the FF8 dance is now completely optional.

2nd Note Is looking for somebody to fill out the role to stand on stage( or stand in front) and introduce the group as a whole, if somebody isn't looking forward to dancing wouldn't mind somebody taking the introducing role.

Arablest is still keen for Aladdin, but it doesn't look like my other friend will do Tinkerbell now.

Also about the dance- I'm not sure if I'll have time to learn it >:

Tinkerbell is out ? :/

Recommend either going to youtube and learning the dance by slowing it down and learning step by step or downloading TinTango's video clip or see if you have a friend in the area that is in the group and has learnt the dance, when was trying to learn the Final Fantasy VIII dance last year with Cyren VK just watched the youtube clip of the ballroom dance and slowed it down and paused whenever a move was made and memorized the dance. (:

Think we should find dance partners first though- it will make learning the dance much easier because it's easier to learn a dance with somebody to help you out. (: [ two heads are better than one ~]

It's not so much how I'd learn it, but how long it would take me (noob dancer trying to learn off a video with no partner? ) especially as I am quite busy this year + our internet is rarely fast enough to properly youtube things .__.
However, I WILL try my best to learn it in time Very Happy I just worry that I'd let my partner down (not that I have one yet)

Freddie wants to be your dance partner, will it be okay to add you guys into the dance partners list ? :3
Uhh, yeah dial- up sucks/ slow internet sucks.. can relate to you there.. is going to take a guess of maybe 4/5 months ?
The FFVIII dance took about 3/2 months to learn, but this dance looks more complicated and detailed.xD'

Can I give a warning ? learning a dance off youtube is a very patient process and you may never want to see the dance clip/ or song ever again for months. Think is just watching the FF VIII dance again without tearing hair out, it's just like making a long AMV- it can kill the enjoyment of the song/ dance for a long while. -_________-';

If you want you can take that role (: - was going to take it because doubt in one thousand Disney years is ever going to find a partner..

I am worried that my black body paint might rub off on Freddie's costume though D;

Oh gawd, no! Giving any type of a prepared speech freaks me out. Even if it's just 'Lookit us, we're dancing!'
Yeah, I'll leave that to you. I'm having my MRI in two weeks, so I'll hopefully know if I'll be able to dance in a coupla months
