help on eye contacts?
By catnes555. 03/02/10, 05:23 pm |
| Well. I got my blue contacts a while ago. Could you maybe help me with:
Where should I store them? How long will they last? How many times can I use them? How long can I put them in for? Just to note, I have used them twice already (They arn't damaging my eyes or anything), they are in clear glass bottles (So, wondering if I shouldn't keep them in the sunlight or something). I have heard you shouldn't sleep in them, does that go for napping for a little too? If asked I can post a picture of them. |

| depends on the brand etc. Do you know what brand they are? In terms of storage, just keep em under the sink or something. Out of the sun is a good idea. I wear every-day sort of contacts and i would assume the same sort of storage suggestions apply to coloured ones. |

| Just in your bathroom in a draw or under the sink or something is fine. Depending on what brand they are and how often you use them it could be anywhere from 3 months to a year. You shouldn't wear them for more than 9 - 10 hours at a time. Do you have a lenses case? I picked up a case for $2 so they are a good investment. No you shouldn't sleep in them, idk about napping, I suppose that's ok. |

| re: napping. actually it depends how long you nap for. P: if it's something like a 5min, 10min nap it's okay, but if you intend to nap for like an hour or something, take 'em off! c:
not that this ever stops me napping in them anyway... /falls asleep randomly a lot. /slaps self. bad syn! it's bad for your eyes! take them off! /slapslap |

| I have plain contacts cuz my eyes are horrible v.v but hopefully the same things apply~
Hopefully, you got a contact lens case with them and a bottle of saline :3 remember to replace the saline every so often so you don't get conjunctivitis (it's not a good feeling ; ; very painful...) It's better that you don't wear them for long, but if you do, then remember to bring along some eye rewetting drops~
When I was young, I couldn't be bothered taking off my lenses so I'd nap in them. My naps were just a couple of hours but my eyes were dry after that so I recommend taking them off to sleep or nap for any duration longer than an hour~ |

^this. it hurts like hell. /had it once. make sure you're putting the correct solution in; i remember putting in the rinsing solution to store my lenses-- end result, lenses got infected and i got conjunctivitis. (my right eye hurt yesterday after i took my lenses off and i panicked, thinking i got it again; but my eye feels normal today so it might just be a false alarm.) |

| if the glass bottles the contact lenses came in have been opened already, i recommend you get lens cases to keep them in.
change the solution every week if you don't wear them often. and change the solution every time you use the lenses. :3 |

| | P: you'd use less solution keeping them in the cases, fyi, unless you don't fill the glass vials up to the top. :3 |
