Team Fortress 2 Cosplay

Okay, let's post battle ideas for our Cosplay.

Um... if there is a group of Yu Gi oh cosplayers, we could do battle in a duel. We could be summoned to the deck as dual monsters with attack and defense points, also with equip cards to boost our attack, so we can use our weapons.
But we'd have to liaise with them, it would take a little more organization but probably only be on the Saturday.

Or, battle like in Dungeons and Dragons, using dice to roll. Everytime we made a kill, we would say a taunt or something.
We could get spectators to roll the dice, and win a prize if they win overall.

One of my friends suggested we meet at a place at a specific time and have a show down

And since it's been a while lets have a STATUS UPDATE where everyone is at on their costume...

So far all i got the Hat which i have to spray paint a little browner,a Belt, the parts to make the sniper rifle and....um i think that's it, man I'm lazy. Alright NEXT!

I spray painted the bat but it's my first time spray painting so it's real noob.

Edit:The paint dried and it's not too bad....

Im working nights, so wont make any progress till I get back home next week.

ADDIT: I'll need to spray paint my helmet too, which Ive never done before.

3/3/10: Just bought a blu military jacket, it's navy though... gotta find pants now, and figure out how to make the plastic grenades.

Hmmm i can only seem to find Blue polo long sleeves for the sniper and i can't find any brown vests probably not looking hard enough

I recommend making them with paper mache rather than buying em though.

25 days to go!

And I need help!!!

I'm sitting here hand-sewing my coat and realized many things that I would like help with.

1. Engineer is a Uni student/tutor so he has no time to look for costume. Anyone know where I can find overalls for an engineer and a cheap but decent hard hat

2. My older brother is still set on a red suit, but we settled on getting a grey one then dying it if we have time. I would like your thoughts on this

3.I LOVE your ideas! We must finalize on one by this week or next week so that we are sorted

1.Hmmmm.... I think I saw some hardhats at bunnings warehouse, and some overalls too, but that was in the Auckland store. You might want to give your local branch a call to see if they stock it, though I dont know how much it will cost.

2. I'm having the same trouble with finding blue cargo trousers, so Im considering buying khaki ones and dying them. I haven't dyed anything before, but Im still looking for blue ones, and if I do dye I'll show you the thread I used. Might want to post something in the Costume Help and Critique Thread for some advice.

3.Yeah, let's keep brainstorming!

By the way, are you and your brother still doing all 3 days?

Edit: Have some bad news guys...
Our Engineer pulled out. He is one of those guys who will cosplay only if he doesn't have to do or pay for anything...and of course, I was epected to pay for it and I wont so he said don't worry about it.
Fortunately, I may have a replacement, but I'm still not happy.

Secondly, my older brother came close to pulling the plug on him being spy, but there might still be a chance he can do it without costing him a cent, fingers crossed!

Edit Edit: Got him a suit, will be making patches this weekend.

Also, is anyone else here starting to see every little mistake in their props and/or costume?

You start to see every little mistake when you want it to look totally perfect
i'm sure people want mind/notice the little stuff

Addit:i might be going all 3 days but yeah same as Zepyhr on friday i'll be just be shopping,browsing and hanging with mates
