Do you think there should be a amv contest at Dunedin Anime con???

I seriously think there should be one. I got so excited that there was a anime con near here since the closest one is in christchurch. I think its just unfair not to have one in dunedin.

The main negative thing I hear about this idea is about duplicate entries.

My solution? Prizeless competition. Credit and bragging rights only. Then, who cares about dupes?

Two maximum i'd say, and make sure the entries are in about three weeks before >_>;;; that way there's sufficient time to get crap sorted LOL

I REALLY think that'd be awesome to see an amv contest for dunnerz, there's a bunch of us who want to do this and i'm sure there'd be more organization for it this year.

Maybe first prize at MOST would get a box set or a plush toy of 50 bucks, 2nd 20 buck G C to MadMan, Third um... rasberry turd? @__@ no brains to think of a third LOL

I'd love to see this happen, not just for my sake - but because i could spam about it on my website!

You know, maybe if more people actually entered the amv contest at the other geddons, then there might be one for future NZAEs? Wink

Like JVCA says, if more people enter around the country, I think Dunedin would stand a better chance at getting its own comp. From what I heard, CHCH and Welly only had two AMVs entered between them, so how many do y'all think Dunedin would get?

If I'm not mistaken, the chch and welly AMV comps were actually cancelled because there were so few entries. At this rate, we might be lucky just to get one at auckland, let alone at dunedin.

You're not mistaken, Jess-- they were cancelled. I really hope they don't cancel the Auckland one, too, because gaaah, my AMV making hobby has no ultimate goal if there's no comp! D=

Well part of the problem is copyright and DCMA in the US, plus Youtube causing issues - if the RIAANZ had any say in it, they'd shut Bill down.. that could be part of it imho.
