Cosplay Parade Ideas

Two MCs would be good :)

So so far the idea seems to be circling around having music and groups of people on stage at a time rather than walk on walk off individually? Pretty much like a real beauty pageant. Maybe we could have a talent section ;) Evening gown section? Q&A (World peace).

Pre-registering will be difficult because it will be on the first day of the event. However it will be possible to get forms sorted to be printed at home and handed in on the day and have forms at the info booth (will clearly label contest and parade on them!) so that there is something for the MCs to work with. As it is non competitive this then is less of a chore than it would be for the contest!

The big difference here is that it is better to have fans for the MCs as they will be able to ad lib and interact with the cosplayers. Keep that fun feeling. No jokes at the expense of the cosplayers though!

There will be lots of delegation, oh so much, so anyone interested in organising music and being MC (will be handling all the forms as they will be the ones to use them) please keep putting hands up :)

I don't know how many people do drama at school/uni but I know we had lots of evenings of skits and entertainments and improve that may or may not be useful ;)

woah first day!

i thoguht it would be sunday but now that i think about it the cosplay comp is on that day so this makes sense i guess xD

if the MCs have a clipboard with all the forms in order on them, it'd be easy for them to run through and ad lib. (:

however, i think that perhaps an audition setting would be better, as voting usually turns into a popularity contest.

Heh, I've been watching this thread progress, but I haven't really had anything to add. It sounds awesome~ <3

Do you think there'd be any possibility of the projector being hijacked? If people came up in groups, there's the possibility of them lining up/posing while each individual person gets the spotlight for 10+ seconds to pose/something with a ref pic blown up behind them. {Providing that someone brings a laptop to the geddon with wireless interwebs I wouldn't think it'd be that difficult...?} Wow, that sounds messy. But if someone was solely in charge of it, hah, I'm not sure. Anyway, just throwing ideas out there~

I'm definately keen to help out in anyway. :3

Not quite ;) . Variety hour like they used to have on TV. Big production numbers, lots of really cheesy singing and dancing. Cheesy, real cheesy ;)

I sorta tried out the cosplay parade thing at DAE this year, although it was organised literally at the last minute. I didn't fill up the full hour at all and had to improvise the entire thing, my lack of cosplayers was also an issue.

However, with that said, I can certainly see it turn out to be a success with proper organisation and planning and decent turn out. I'd love to MC or at least help out.
