Cosplay Parade Ideas

A cosplay event every day at geddon would be awesome! It'd give all our 'non-comp' cosplays more show, I know I love my non-comp cosplays just as much Very Happy

I like the idea of a pageant, it could be hilarious

I think that this is a fantastic idea! The only problem I can currently see with it is that I don't know if we could get a full hour out of it. We've done a smaller scale similar thing at the cosplay games since auck '08 and we only tend to get 5-10 people pre-registering -- and sometimes (like at auck '09) half of them... don't... actually turn up. ._.

HOWEVER; I think if this was done as a full event and was up on the website then it might be a bit more successful - not everyone who cosplays is on these forums, and I reckon it'd be awesome to see some of the 501st up there too. Very Happy

Indeed! If I wasnt into cosplay, my Geddon adventures would only last as long as it took to raid the Madman Stall.

Maybe in order to fill an hour, it could be more of an introduction to cosplay? A catwalk mixed with information about cosplay, with questions, answers and advice etc? Maybe show a couple of videos or have a performance for advertisement for the games as well as the competition.

Cosplayers are probably the only people who actually go every single day to every single event. We make him a lot of money lol! XP

its an awesome idea but maybe it can be trialed up in auckland no matter what the trial is like i wellington just so Auckland cosplayers can get a taste of it ^__^

an hour is a great amount of time, there is so much that can be done in that time..
the catwalk is a must especially with music and funnies
and it could be a great time for those that dont enter the comp to do their own skits and their talent with their cosplay.
that wouldnt hurt the competition im sure
liking the idea of the "introduction to cosplay"
there must be a sing-a-long song for all cosplayers too XDD

an MC.. id attempt to do that, i have the voice but not the face for it tho XDD
(as long as i still get to cosplay and do the whole armageddon experience im happy)

a Parade sounds like fun but it sounds like too much to organise but im sure in the future it can be looked at again ^__^

Actually it would be quite cool if the MC could go over the materials used or some info about the character too. *Likes Suixelo's idea*

@Maxi: They trial it at a smaller con first and if it's successful then they do it at the bigger one.

wow~ seems like recent events have allowed cosplay to become even more famous! ~~AND RULE THE WORLD!!!~~
I'd love to say I have super awesome ideas... but sadly I don't T_T
Maybe with the MC ~~LOL Mandie Chan /is shot~~ we can have more than one. It would take the pressure of the one person and they can also make it more relaxed (like with what Angie and Jen do at the cosplay games).

oooo... we could have different categories? game/anime/manga/movies/tv shows etcetc or is that to much effort?
