No I am not there and will never (sad cry.. smallest violin and all that jazz) However two friends from here have gone over (I know a few more attending of course, costuming circles cross the world :) ) and have been posting photo updates :)

You may recognise them from Cosplay contests here :) Matt won Welly 08 with the Spartans and Kristy got best cartoon (I think!) in the same for her Snow Bunny Padme and they won Auckland 07 together with Joker and Harley. kristy has helped with the contest a few times now too :) And both have been long time Star Wars costumers at Geddon.

It was funny how many people couldn't believe we had come all the way from NZ. Yeah, it was rather expensive Shocked

But after an experience like that, it made us look at costuming a whole new way. Talking about the weekend on the flight home, we realised we both want to go back next year :)

There's just no way to convey the sheer size of it all. The number of people in the Marriott atrium on Saturday night/Sunday morning was incredible... Sunday night Matt and I were both there and couldn't find each other!

Wow, I'm so jealous. Dragoncon would be amazing, the guest list they have each year is nerd heaven.
