Re: CLAMP No Kiseki set - pricing help

| What are your thoughts on the following:
1. Would NZ$10 per manga volume be too much to ask? All these books are in excellent condition (some never read.) Am just concerned because I want to sell series in sets, but if I have say, the first 9 volumes of a series, thats automatically NZ$90, which seems a lot ;_;
I also have a lot of manga in Japanese, from back in the day (we're talking mid-90s here) when it seemed highly unlikely that many titles by the likes of say CLAMP, were ever going to get translated into English. Is there any point trying to sell these?
2. DVDs I know I am not going to get how much I paid for them, but what sort of prices should I look to be asking for: boxed sets single dvds special tins or sets
3. Special limited edition boxed sets such as the Death Note "Death Box" and a 3x3 Eyes 10th Anniversary Box. How does one remotely begin to find collectors for these? I know Death Note is hugely popular, but yeah... I don't want this set to go to a kid whose going to rip it apart. ~_~
4. Figures, trading cards, calendars, magazines, plushies, gasha, doushinsi... whats the market?
5. Some of the stuff I will be selling is decidedly... ADULT in nature. I want to ensure they don't end up in the hands of minors (sorry guys!) in this, do I just offer them for sale to the people I THINK might be interested?
6. HOW does one go about getting the word out that this stuff IS for sale. The small stuff I am happy to throw on TradeMe, but definitely NOT the big stuff. |

| 1. Considering you pay $20 at least at Borders for a volume... hmm You never know if there might be collectors that know Japanese, so give it a try?
2. check Madman for prices.
3. Fraid I can't help you there. If you use TM, it will be hit and miss. If someone knows a good place to sell/buy anime/manga to/from collectors in NZ I'd like to know too.
4. Might be pretty niche, but there will be one.
5. State it in your description.
6. Armageddon forums? I dunno... |

| Okay.. lots of questions but not enough time.
I'll answer the last three.
For now with the market, i'm a little surprised because i usually find you to be the one to ask about what the market is atm.. Unfortunately with the market as it is now, it's literally too hard to say which particular products are selling..
for selling things Adult, i'll answer that with question 6
To get the word out that you're selling large items etc, or items in general, i think it would best to ask seong for help with that as i know he sells other peoples collections too. Otherwise if i search anything anime related in NZ, i'm bound to find our name somewhere (trust me :3 i've done it lots haha)
In asking Seong for help, you're also getting the whole "Can't sell this to minors because of age" thing that stores have in forced on them (by the law obviously)
Bed time but i hope that helps you :3 |

| Chiritsu I haven't really been in the scene for a while. I know the usual places, just wondering if anything else has changed.
Already gotten in touch with Bill re: a table at Armageddon, so fingers crossed.
I don't want to sell through Seong or Gotham Comics because they usually ask for a commission. I may as well do eBay or TradeMe if I do that.
And for adults, I think I'll just raise it with the adult fans I do know, and let word spread from there.
And looks like $10 is go, better start putting my lists together.
As for searching Madman's site for dvds, umm, I can't ask those prices cause no one PAYS retail XD |
