Superly-Duperly Awesome Multi-Purpose AMV thread~!
Post By Aurellion. 20/03/08, 12:36 am

yes! It's here! It's not queer!

..or maybe it is, depends on the anime used. xD

Anyway - I've noticed many threads around in various other forums, or in various other topics, that have something to do with AMVs, and I keep losing them when I want to reply. So yeah. ._.

But now, we have this spifftacular thread, which is where anything AMV related will reside, and eventually those other topics (if I can find them again >_>) will get filtered out.

So yes - post! Enlighten us with your AMV efforts! Get us to criticize your AMVs! Ask for help - recommendations on program, anime, music, theme, effects. Share ideas - share what you thought to some of the AMVs at Geddon! We have talented AMV makers here to help, and hope to attract more and expand~ I personally am not one of those. xD but maybe, in the long future will be. [crosses fingers]

h'okay - so, spill~ :) Non-AMV makers are equally welcome as well! In fact, you're more than welcome! ^_~

Yo~! Pyro doodette~! ^^

'tis good to see you here~.

I really don't understand how you can make four... o_O I've taken about 2 weeks to get only 1:40.. Meh, maybe I'm a slow worker.

oh yes - forgot to ask in previous post - but what AMVs are people entering, if any for Geddons? You don't have to mention specifics, just yeah - let us know and we'll keep an eye out. Very Happy

as for AMVs I've done - well. xD I made my first one for Auckgeddon last year, and like a fool submitted it in the wrong format - data DVD instead of just plain old DVD. Oh woe is me, but nevermind! I am a dork, but that's what makes me speshul. ;) But if you're curious to see my lame first AMV - please checky out http://youtube.com/user/aurellion. It's the FFX one. :)

I'm currently working on a Tsubasa AMV, to Our Truth by Lacuna Coil. :) I'm trying to make it a LOT better than those two feeble attempts I've done, but we'll see. Feedback would be appreciated when I've finished~ ^_^

also - are you guys gonna put them up on YouTube before the actual competition, or after? as it does say something about You Tube in the thingy.. brief... uhh.. AMV Rules thing on the Pulp Expo site.

I like making amvs too! I pretty much worry for 6 months what I am gunna do for the amv contest and end up with about 30 unfinished and 2 finished amvs if I am lucky xD

I have done 1 amv for Wellygeddon and still working a The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya one ><. I really need to hurry up.

I use Ulead Videotudio 10, but when I get a job in September, I am going to get Sony Vegas cause it seems so much better.

Oh yeah, I also search out good amvs on youtube for a living silent

Hurrah! Will it be too cheesy if I say welcome to the thread, Re:Play? xD But, welcome anyway. Very Happy

Don't worry - I've not finished the one I'm working on for the contest, and also need to hurry up.. I know you'll make it, and after all, you've got this Easter to work on it, so yeah. :3

If you're interested - I've got a playlist set up on my You Tube channel of AMVs I've seen and liked, so yeah, that could aid you with your living duties. xD

I can't wait to see everyone's entries! ^_^

Unfortunately, I won't be able to get to Welly Geddon - so be sure to put stuff on You Tube for me! xD [waggles finger] That is, if you have the time: it'd be appreciated. ;)

Sony Vegas is very good - takes up not much RAM, but very powerful - which is great, as you can still chat to people yet work on your project. Not very efficient, but oh well! >_<

It's really good...better then Windows Movie Maker anyway. It makes really good amvs and is easy to navigate around, but it only lets you make 40 different folders for your clips, so you have to keep deleting everything before you can make a new amv for a new series. There is also this quality thing on youtube. It seems whenever I create an amv in Ulead and create amy type of file. It turns out bad quality in youtube. But that's about the only 2 flaws. I would recommend it to anyone who asked ^^

No, not too cheesy :3!
I commented on your FF vid way back when you put it on lol.

Yay, I will check out that playlist now. I love watching amvs and making them. It's what I do it relax I guess. It's also cool to see creator names you see every year for amvs and see how they have improved and how good newcomers are and such.

It's not efficent? I will have to reconsider it then ><

*Edit* You have Potter Puppet Pals. They made me giggle for ages!

Ah-hah! it's youuuu~! xD You're one of my AMV idols! ^__^ [glomps]

xD Glad you enjoyed the playlist~

Oh - right, nononononoooo: I was meaning, my method of working wasn't efficient - ie chatting on MSN and AMVing isn't a very good way to work. xD The program itself, is vahnderful. :)

As for getting hold of the program - when you do decide to purchase it and haves enough money, what you could think about doing is trying to purchase it through your school? Like, talk to the Media Studies and graphics departments veerrrryyy nicely, and say that it'd improve the school's reputation, and ask for a copy yourself. xD Something like that. ;) As that'll mean you'll get a school discount~ [scheme scheme]

Re: Superly-Duperly Awesome Multi-Purpose AMV thread~!
Post By Pyro. 20/03/08, 01:10 pm

WOOOOOOOOOOOO~!

Both of my 'Geddon discs are done!

I'm mailing them in tomorrow. <3

TIME FOR A DISC-CONTENTS SPEEL~!

Basically, I've got the same AMVs for both, but different menu designs to tell them apart.

Wellygeddon has a picture of Zack from Crisis Core holding Angeal's hand at his death; with 'The Price of Freedom' playing in the background. Menu buttons are black.

CHCHgeddon has a picture of Ed from FMA pouting, half shirtless; with 'A Moment of Courtesy' playing in the background. Menu buttons are blue.

The AMVs themselves are as such-

'Crusnik 12/21' is a Trinity Blood AMV set to 'Prelude 12/21' by AFI. It's basically about the relationship between Abel and Esther after and when Esther finds out about his Crusnik nature. It's a cross between drama and action, really. Choral 'whoa-oh's are action parts, and the rest is mainly Esther and Abel providing their points of views on his condition. This one took me a few hours.

'Back from the Dead' is a drama AMV set to Wolf's Rain with 'It's Not a Fashion Statement' by My Chemical Romance as the music. It's about Darcia and how he copes with the loss of Hamona, and how he deals with Jagara's betrayal. It also provides basic musing from Darcia on life and death. This one took me somewhere around twenty hours; I would assume. It's my least favorite of my entries, but I still adore it. x3

'Eddie's Teddy' was a nightmare to make. I used Fullmetal Alchemist with 'Eddie's Teddy' from the Rocky Horror Picture Show; giving myself a rule to use as minimal effects as possible to create a highly amusing and lyrically appropriate AMV. Basically; that means the only effects seen in it are slow downs/speed ups to help with the lip sync, a few flashes and a border to cut out subtitles during one moment. It's about Ed being a bad kid and stuff... Kinda hilarious in parts.

Features...

Ed Elric as Eddie
Van Hohenheim as Dr. Scott
Envy as Frank 'n' Furter
Wrath as Columbia
Winry as Eddie's 'Rock 'n' Roll Porn' and Back-Up singer

'Keep Me in Your Memories' is one which I utterly adore. <3

It's about how the characters from FFVII:CC and the other games live on in each other. It documents how they change in the memory of each other, and how they're influenced. It opens on Angeal musing over how Zack is the only one left who cares for him, then Zack dying while Aeris thinks of him.

Finally, Zack's final moments cause Cloud to mimic him, forgetting what he once was- the carefree Nibelheim boy who Zack met and cared for. Aeris dies, and Cloud snaps back to being himself- he realizes mimicing Zack isn't helping him. He waves goodbye to the spirits of Aeris and Zack, and as feathers cascade down, the three of them realize that they can't be each other- nor can they be the original hero, Angeal.

'Keep Me in Your Memories' is my favorite AMV I've made, like, ever. It's so saaad~! The first version of it on Youtube (my account is Pyrohappygirl there); but it's really crappy and yeah. But it'll give you an idea of what the song is like and how parts of it go.

xD I've been excited too, although only for about a month. And that's been anti-climatic. xD My school work has been suffering SO MUCH due to this AMV...

which is now finished. :) But needs some tweaking before I burn it to DVD... >_> I'd love it if you guys could take a look, and possibly offer feedback. Very Happy

it's weird.. I was really excited whilst I was putting in the last 3 seconds or so, and then when I watched the final finished product it was very anti-climatic and I didn't like it very much. T_T Yes, I am weird. But that doesn't take away my right to not like it. :p

anyway - link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fS59ti0_GeE

Glad you liked the playlist, Re:Play~! ^^ And no problem. :)
