So... Ummm... You guys know how we have that "Anime Lending System" topic? ( http://forum.cosplay.co.nz/auckland-cosplayers-f6/anime-lending-system-auckland-t1082.htm ) - as well as mentions left right and centre of how we download stuff?

Well, it turns out that forumotion does random keyword sweeps it's forums, and our one kind of set off one too many bells for illegal file distribution. Guess what we each just got in our email. :/

Illegal File Distribution is against the Forumotion Terms of Service, which is why they're investigating I guess. >.<

Hopefully they'll let us go because we haven't actually posted anything on here, but... well, I guess we'll see.

Umumummm... Crap. o_o; I guess I'll see you guys when/if they give us our forum back.

Well shint. Trust a sugar honey iced tea webhost to pull something like this on us. motherfrakkers.

If we are setting up a temporary forum, I recommend we talk to Hoggs. His webserver is probably even faster than our current hosting, and assuming forumotion aren't an utter pack of retards (given this, plausible) they should allow database dumps, so we might even be able to keep post history.

I dunno - we have links to amvs on here, which according to youtube is a violation of copyright. :/ Anyone remember the big banning blitz on people who'd posted amvs? Krista (LovelyKouga)'s account got banned with that - maybe forumotion will take a similar stance? @_@

As far as I can see there are no links in the thread itself. It just says they've been downloaded. So we're not hosting anything illegal, per se.

(and as regards the amv issue, is there a copy of forumotion's rules, so we can see what they say regarding it?)
