VA Guest Dinner - FINAL-FINAL UPDATE PLEASE READ!

2009 Wellington Armageddon VA and general hang-out dinner
(yay!)

FINAL INFO, PLEASE READ:

Please read and also pass on this info to those who are attending but not on the forums.

Meet at 7:15pm outside the restaurant - at the BIG Weta sculpture outside (looks like a cross between a 'War or the World's' Machine and a video camera - the resturant address and map is further down). Gemma and Terrance will be meeting and gathering up everyone there and taking you up to the tables. There's a little bit of table seating arrangements that they will let you know of when you get there (don't worry, you can still sit with friends, it's just for the guests and the three of us who will be bringing the guests).

PLEASE DO NOT GATHER OR COME TO THE GUEST COLLECTION POINT (I can't stress this enough) don't worry about that - we're not telling you where or when it is so you don't have to worry about it! Just meet up at the resturant meeting point - myself, Angie and Abby will do the rest and bring them along. :)

Please bring Money (obviously) for your meal and a few dollars at the very least as a donation towards the guest's meals (this is our thank you for having them). I'm going to try and sort out some little gifts for them too, and cards that we'd like for everyone to sign. :3

MEETING TIME AND PLACE: Guests are being picked up by myself, angie and one of the other organisers. Everyone else needs to meet outside the resturant. Either at the door or by the Weta sculpture (which is almost right beside the door anyway). I will have other organisers there to meet and take everyone up. :3

That's all the details I can think of right now. Please comment in this thread if you need more. :3

Basic info:

Price: Set menu price is about $22-25. If ordering a separate meal, prices
range between $15-20 + (This doesn't include drinks, which are
reasonably priced).

Prices vary depending if you take part in the set menu or order your own dishes. I do recommend joining in with the rest of us who order from the set menu, as everything is delicious and we ALWAYS have had leftovers, no matter how many we've had. Also, you get to PICK a certain amount of each course for the set menu, which means more choice as well.

Food: Chinese. Also has basic Chinese for those who aren't big on the fancy asian meals. Vegetarian options are available.

Dress: Guests or not, this will be casual attire, thanks guys. If not for the guests, than for the fact that we want to have a fun, casual dinner - plus there's plenty of time to cosplay at Armageddon (I'm not fond of the idea of washing black bean sauce out of Chopper's fur).

Guests: Asking the guests has been hard. Not just because of contact info but also because most of them I know are either busy with work at the moment or have had other cons right before they head down to New Zealand (Brina had a con last weekend, and Colleen I don't think ever has much time to answer her emails). Aura will be speaking to them face-to-face at the Christchurch con to see if they're interested in joining us for Dinner in Wellington. There's no guarantee that they'll want to come or have the time. Past guests have been really cool when they have attended and conversations are usually very casual and fun.

Please also note that if we do have guests, we kindly ask that you make a small donation towards the evening as we pay for their meals to thank them for taking the time out to joining us. It doesn't have to be a HUGE amount - even $1-2 usually cuts it, most of all if we have a large group of you guys attending too. If you CAN spare some more towards it though, that would really help out a ton!

Looking at the shifts I've been covering lately $25 (Including the donation for guests) Should be okay, only question - May have already asked it but can't remember is, do they have much non-asian food there? *Allergy Alert to %99 of Asian foods x.x*
