So ya know what New Zealand doesn't have? A National Cosplay Day! Shocked
Wouldn't it be awesome to have a day where you can cosplay to celebrate...cosplay?
Just trying to think of the date is the hard part, end of year people are concentrating on exams, March, April, June, & October there are huge cosplay events in, and then there's the seasons to consider, some times during the year are too hot or too cold.
I'm thinking of January, it's in the holidays, no major public holidays are in it except New Years, cosplay picnic can be on the same day, only negative thing I can think of is the heat.
So if you're keen to start a National Cosplay Day, & you have any suggestions, please comment! nyahaha

Also if enough people back this, I'll make a group on dA celebrating Cosplay Day so everyone's cosplays can be seen, there'll probably be competitions too~ Razz

lol awesome idea! Everyone else not 'in the know' would wonder what the H was going on hehe

Perhaps more like a designated weekend? e.g. first weekend of X month? Then those who work can participate...

Starting a day would be AWSOME.

If it does happen, we'd have to try get it into some newspapers or something. It'd be even more official, and we might get randoms who dont even know what it is to take part!

Yeah but people could be away any holidays, & they could celebrate it on holiday if they want to ^_^

Yup just a day where we get into costume, not necessarily have an event.

*head meet desk* Um is the first weekend of Jan usually new years? So maybe the 2nd weekend would be better?

Oh yeah that's what I was meaning, the first weekend of Jan 2009 is on the 3-4th, so the second is the 10-11th.
Think the 2nd weekend will be better? Just so people can rest after New Years ^^

If you wanted to get really interesting, send an email to all the radio stations. It might not be an official event, but if people are expecting a day of strange clothing in public, they may jump on the bandwagon aswell. Razz
