Final Fantasy Xiii and Xiii 2 soon :D

| Hey guys! I haven't played any newer FF before, A friend recommended me to buy XIII before waiting to buy 2, so just before i brought Xiii brand new for 40$ (Just need to wait for the shipping maybe arrive after X Mas?)
The reason why i brought Xiii well! was simply to play it before i Buy Xiii 2 when it comes out  .
So! what are your opinions about Xiii? please don't spoil anything or i will be mad!!

| Personally I loved XIII, but a lot of people will disagree. Linear maps, lacking storyline and all that are peoples' complaints, but I really enjoyed it, especially some of the character dynamics withint the team 8)
Just preordered the Crystal Edition of XIII-2 this week - can't wait for it!

| Eh I hate it.
It was too linear and didn't really like the characters or music that much. Also the story didn't seem that well developed and was almost like a bit of a mess at times. Mostly I felt like it was more of a movie than a JRPG game. And the battle system, how you can only control the leader and not have a team of three or four like the older games was a huge letdown.
In defense of the linear complaint the first 30 mins of the game is seriously just one. straight. line.
It just felt rushed and lazy and like Square was saying " People will love it because it has nice shiny grapchiz "!
I also loathe Snow. Haaaaaaaaaate him. I've haven't hated a character so much since FFX's Wakka, oh and Vaan.
Though give it go and try it out for yourself, because you're the only judge, not somebody else.

(minor spoilers ahead)
you do have to realise that they were on the run from Psiciom forces, the whole point was that you would go back and fight the army.
I hope 13-2 isnt as bad as 13 was, I mean 13's battle system was solid it was all about timing when it comes to switching paradigms, and I fell it offered a better pace to the standard, choose attack, attack, wait 5 mins, then rinse and repeat. |

Many FF characters have been on the run before and that's never resulted in a straight line.
example Terra is on the run from the Empire and you spend most of the beginning of FF6 heading through caves, fighting with moogles, visiting kingdoms, and even heading down a river and fighting a octopus. That's extremely nonlinear.
FF X Tidus and the others are on the run from the Guados and you end up falling down through a broken icy river and then later separated from the group, searching for your friends and Yuna the summoner you're sworn to protect.
So that's not a good enough reason. |

| Well you ethier love it or hate , I fall between the two, I enjoyed 13 for its gameplay and story, and I hated it for the characters(hope and snow ) , Im just hoping 13-2 offers a better story than the 13.
I wanna see what the deal with kreis or whatever his name is

Noel Kries ? He's going to be protecting Lightning's sister throughout the sequel. And don't worry, many people adore FF13. Final Fantasy games ALWAYS, ALWAYS have it's haters and lovers, even "the almighty FF7 ". 
People diss FF8 alot and it always gets called the worst, same with FF2 but I think that those FF games are amazing. FF just has unique fanbase because the games are always different each time. If people call " FF13 the worst " it's just their opinion, because you're going to hear somebody say that " FF6 is the worst " or " FF9 the worst next ".
When FF15 comes out, it will be the same story.  |
