Keeping epic bows upright?
By Rehtse. 06/11/11, 04:23 pm |
| When a bow is of epic proportions like the one in the example below, it's gonna wanna flop all over the place.
| Spoiler: | | |
If you look, you can see there's a gigantor bow at the back of her dress. |
So my question is, what do you do to such a bow to get it to stay upright?
Many thanks! |

| | You can iron or stitch on some heavy interfacing on the inside to stiffen it. |

| Thats a good idea. Alternatively you could line the inside with metal wiring or ribbing. I'd be cheap and bend a metal clothes hanger into shape and thread it inside the fabric.

| | ^ that would work too- once I used cardboard and it worked AMAZING, but wasn't very permanent! |

| | Stiff tulle also works really well I found. You might need two layers of it for something that big though. |

| | If you want it a bit more poofy like in the picture you may want to stuff it. It makes it nice and squishy as opposed to flat and helps hold the shape at the bottom. |
