Pip boy 3000 (New vegas)

IM currently working on a cosplay of the courier from Fallout New Vegas and I was wondering if anyone who has done a FO3/NV cosplay has any hints or advise on making the Pipboy.

Ive looked on Goole and Youtube but most of the tutorials involve the wristwatch that came with an amazon special ed which cost an arm and a leg on ebay.

I hope this doesn't count as necro'ing a dead thread, but...there's quite a lot of stuff on therpf.com, not New Vegas specifically, but a lot of DIY pipboy builds. Some out of foam, a few which use an iPhone as the screen, and one AMAZING one which details building an LED backlit screen and casting a case in resin! Not for everyone, but some really cool reading nonetheless.

I checked out therpf.com before posting here, unfortunately I couldn't find any that could be made using local materials (I live in Timaru).

Fortunately I had a moment of clarity earlier and figured since I am in our local drama league I could ask one of our prop/set designers Very Happy

. Hopefully I'll have something to show soon.

Also I dont think there is anything wrong with necro'ing a thread if it helps someone.
