Fabric store in Auckland??

Because Google maps is utterly puke-useless so I thought I'd ask a non-AI to help

Okay so I'm in Central Auckland; Queen St area.
Are there any fabric stores nearby or will I have to trek to Spotlight or something?

The cosplay is made with polarfleece, which is quickly going out of season I guess since clothing stores are suddenly advertising summer clothes...but it's still cold wtf
anyway yes are there any? .^.

I believe there's something on Dominion Rd? Geoff's Emporium or something? Not too sure, but afaik that's closer to the CBD than Spotlight branches usually are.

What colour/kind of polar fleece did you need? It's a big trip from the CBD but Designer Textiles Factory Store (I think that's what it's called...) in Otara has a pretty good range of fleece generally.

oh ohhhh I just rememebered this crazy Asian store which stocks materials at the back, but I'm not sure if they have fleece... I only need obscenely bright yellow and white but yellow is frustratingly difficult to find! DX

Looks like anything else is a bus trip away, but then that's what all my shrapnel/coins are for ..

That store would be LookSharp, I believe. Last I went they had short pile faux fur (cow print) but I can't remember if they had fleece or not. Worth a look anyway!

How much yellow did you need? I have about a 1mx1.5m of a really bright eggy yellow I don't need, but if that's not much help if you needed more than that, hahah. It's the yellow at the bottom of this guy's dress-thing: http://gallery.little-noise.com/main.php?g2_itemId=31422

Indeed. I just checked it out - I hugged the roll of cow fabric - but they had no fleece. Loads and loads of everything sad and non-stretchy :C

I need enough to make a set of four ...slippers, I guess I could call them. And that would be enough - but it's too pale from checking out those photos :'C

No worries. C: I have gotten obnoxiously neon yellow from Spotlight before, but gave it to a friend. No idea if they still stock it, but best of luck! :)

LookSharp seems to be the only store that sells fabric in the CDB, but if you go a bit south, should be able to bus to Global Fabrics (139 Newton Road, Newton). They don't seem to have a range as big as Spotlight's, but they aren't too bad either.

Like JVCA already said, Geoff's Emporium is a good store with a good range and good prices.

There's also a store called Nick's Fabrics nearby that stocks discounted fabric.

Ack.

So I tried LookSharp. No fleece. I tried Global Fabrics. They don't stock it either.

I went all the way out to Spotlight in Panmure. They were OUT OF STOCK for white fleece!
I can't believe this >.<;;;

Looks like Geoff's Emporium is my next target..

I did get yellow, though. The fun thing is, it's the tone in between the to-be-fixed cosplay and the amount of yellow fleece I had already. Multicolours yay!

I actually have about half a meter of white, superstretchy, fleece-like material. Its soft, flat on one side, while a bit fluffy on the other. I bought it about a year ago to make gloves, but I've since changed plans.

I can take upload a photo of it if you'd like. :)

Hokay I went on a casual stroll to Morningside (3 hours there and back! ><) to pick up some stuff, on the way meandered through Geoff's Emporium for a bit and got my white fleece Very Happy
