Cosplay suggestions for me and my fiance?

Anime characters preferably, if we haven't seen it we will consider watching it, my fiance hasn't seen much anime, I got him into it recently, but he wants to cosplay and we are hoping to make it to armageddon in late october c:

Us, just now (for him, suggestions on how to hide tattoos would be good, we were just thinking makeup, would foundation be okay? He has that arm band and a big one on his leg)

I can dye my hair, he might, depends on the colour, and we can try to get wigs but are a bit limited with that, right now we have no money and sources for things like wigs are limited >.<
No cross-dressing, also I have glasses though hope to have contacts by then and my fiance should have glasses by then but I guess he can take them off if he wants, anyway, suggestions with glasses are welcome c:

I suggest just watching lots of anime that you think you'd like and find characters that u love from there and couples that match ur body type.

thats the way I work it out with my bf anyway..

although the 2 characters actually hate each other and fight.
But on the plus side- he has tattoos and is a total bada$$.
So you could work in fake tattos with the real ones.
