Auckland studio shoots - Dec '11/Jan '12

Hello everyone! So, I have a hankering to do some more studio work, and auckland appears to be the best place to do it. Right now I'm aiming to book a studio for either a half or full day, with people able to book 10-minute timeslots for a costume. there will be a charge, to help cover hire costs - this will be divided up among the slots booked. So, if you book two slots, you will pay twice as much as someone who only booked one, and half as much as someone who books four. Yes? Excellent!

I have done a setup like this before, at Minnie Street Studios in Auckland last year. It was pretty successful, but I ended up a LOT out of pocket due to people not showing up and having to re-book a studio last minute when the original one cancelled. Would like to avoid that this time 'round!

If you're interested in taking part, please post in this thread :) If you have a preferred time over the dec/jan period, please also let us know! I'd like to accomodate as many people as possible, and the more we have involved, the cheaper it works out for everyone!

Once we have a time confirmed, I will need payment ASAP. This will be at least a month out, possibly longer. I'm also not averse to the idea of doing this close to Auckland Armageddon, so out-of-towners are available...but, it will mean a bit more stress for people getting to/from the studio and added stress on top of cosplay stress. Up to you, feel free to discuss it here as well!

Here are some of the images from the last shoot - this time 'round, I'd like to play with some different backgrounds. Black, some colours, etc.

As far as cost goes, last time the per slot price was less than ten dollars, which went up unfortunately when we had to change studios.

KEEN.

I'm actually in NZ for Dec/Jan this year, so I'd totally be keen for it. I think I'd want to get some shots of Hazama done (especially if I get his weapon made) and probably Braig as well (and ask Xig to come to Dilan shots)

So yeah. Completely keen for whenever and for whatever price.

Also. Would we be able to book multiple slots if we wanted to get multiple costumes shot?

Yes, very keen. I'd love to get some of Theo and Lizzi against a black or blue background.

But yes. Different backgrounds would be great as well! Though I suppose it would be one colour for the shoot, considering the time restraints.

Yes! 8D That'd be great. A yellow background for that could be awes.

@Sylvie: Maybe if you're using different backgrounds, it would be a good idea to arrange the time slots so that shoots with the same colour backgrounds are all together?

@Rikki: yes! Multi shoots are totally fine, and best for multi costumes. Just allow enough time to get changed!

@Admin: yep, definitely. It's a pain to change a coloured backdrop mid-shoot, so I will definitely book slots around that.

A question about when:

You're asking us when would be good for us. When would not be good for you? Christmas/New Years, possibly?

OHAIBRAINWAVE. Why not make it for Auckland Anniversary weekend. The picnic is usually on that weekend, and we occasionally have out of towners come up for that. So if the picnic is on next year and it's on the Saturday, then you can do this on the Sunday. Plus it seems a less stressful time of year conwise, compared to doing it near Auckgeddon, for example.

Rikki: ACP weekend would be great! As for when is bad for me - no time is bad for me at the moment Razz

If I go back to study next year I'll have to work around that obviously, but at this point I'm just cool whenever the most people are free.

Might have to discuss with Maddi a bit but to get some shots of Luki/Noki with our weapons would be awesome.

I won't be back in NZ until the very end of January. But I can't wait to see the outcome if this does go ahead ^^
