wig hair falling off
Post By Henrietta_Grimm. 13/06/11, 01:59 am

I've got myself a wig for my Shana cosplay [finally finished it Very Happy] from ebay, and so I tried to brush off the tangles with a comb. I did it carefully, but the the strains of hair seems to fall off very easily o.O I don't know what to do as it keeps tangling do I need to buy a special wig brush for it or something?

Try the silicon spray method if your having trouble with the tangeling.http://forum.cosplay.co.nz/t7635-silicon-spray-detangling-method-image-heavy
also with tangeling, use your fingers first it makes it easy
as for brushes, I've heard that metal brushes and combs work better or wooden ones to. Less friction
as for Hair falling out, I don't know but I recently brought one from ebay and you can get dodgy wigs from their.

First off how much didd you pay for it, which seller from ebay did you get it from and what fibre is it? Did they explictly state? Also is it heat-resistant?

I generally recommend heat resistant wigs if they're going to be really long. Just makes your life easier :3:

also it is normal for some hair to come out when brushing and styling it though if it is moulting ie large clumps coming out then yeah its screwed.

I would also recommend braiding it into one braid maybe two if its rly thick during storage to help prevent tangles

I don't know, cuz I asked my friend to buy it off ebay for me, since I didn't have an account that time, and he refused to let me pay him back, so I don't actually know the price >.< it says on the tag that it's 100% kanekalon toyokalon which I have no idea what i means. I don't think it's heat resistance.

This is the best I can take a photo of:

Kanekalon and toyokalon are two different synthetic hair fibres.

As long as huge chunks of hair don't fall out, there's nothing to worry about. If the layers of hair start coming off the wig net, you might have to sew them back on.

Oh okay as long as the actual fibre is stated the wig USUALLY is of at the very least of okay quality. But yeah because its such a long wig hair coming out is normal just as long as its not in huge clumps. Also heat resistant wigs tend to have a coarser fiber than non heat resistant wigs
