game hacking?
Post By lil-craka. 19/05/11, 08:17 pm

I was curious if talking about hacking game consoles and the like was against forum rules?

the only thing that i saw on the 'Rules' that was possibly related to this was

"2: do not post or link content of the following nature: excessive violence, obscene language, sexual references, nudity, racist, homophobic, hateful, inflammatory, defamatory, derogatory, libellous or promote the harm and/or abuse of any group or entity.. This includes signatures and avatars."

as it could possibly harm the companies producing the games? ...

so i was just curious...though i should ask first...before posting anything related to hacking

Considering this is a cosplay forum, I'd say there are definitely other places you'd get more/better information on this sort of thing.

Personally speaking I'm pretty sure hacking's illegal, and it'd be nice to keep the forum for things that aren't likely to get it's members in trouble if the wrong person sees it.

The console companies will probably say something about licenses, you you breaching the conditions of the license.

But really, you bought it, you own it. Why not hack it, it's yours to do whatever you want with. Of course if, say, you were hacking it to run windows or a particular game then you need to own the OS/Game, be inside what ever license conditions apply. Even if hacking id legal then doing illegal stuff with a hacked machine is illegal.
