The internet is about to be capped and I should have borrowed Oblivion -_-". Well least it's better than going through 3 Xbox 360s! /bricked

It's funny, because SGB & I argue about if games we both want should be on the PS3 or the 360, with him arguing PS3 for the free multiplayer online.

Now who's laughing?

(Not me either because my LIVE auto-renewal is being disconnected, feck.)

What's interesting is how Sony is getting a court case or two leveled at them for failing to protect user information, which is illegal in a couple of countries. Has somebody claimed responsibility for the attack yet?

Has anyone else noticed these attack happens when something to do with Call of Duty happens |D might just be me being silly. But last time I recall something like this happening was when COD: Modern Warfare 2 came out. And they announced some Black Op's DLC a few weeks ago.

But this is annoying me immensely because I can't get any more digital comics via Media Go.
I don't own a PS3 myself...I prefer my 360 for online gaming (mainly halo)//brick'd

no nobody has claimed responsibility for the hack, the fact that people stole CC info is just a risk that comes with putting it on there so you cant really blame it all on Sony, you chose to put it up there (not trying to be a sad sony FB ) but also they are to blame for lack of security, anyway bets for when it will be back up

Well, we offer our information to Sony under the assumption that they will keep it to themselves, and that they won't let other people get at it; so theoretically it's perfectly acceptable for us to be outraged that their security wasn't strong enough to protect our CC dets. Age, gender, that kind of thing, people we walk past in the street pretty much have this information so for all I care they don't have to encrypt that but my own family doesn't know how to get to my money; if I give a corporate that information I expect them to keep it safe. So actually, we can blame a hell of a lot on Sony.

A heel of a lot is still not all, but yes Im also peeved off at sony so dont go thinking I trying to protect them, im fully with the whole sony should pay and understand that the majority of this is their fault, I guess im not as peeved as you as I use their network cards to make purchases (seeing as I go to JB Hi-Fi every other weekend)

My problem with this whole thing is how slow Sony was at notifying their users about the compromise. It was a mysterious "down time" for two days before they even admitted a hack.

There are now known user ID being stolen as the result of this. It's just... Things happens but they need to put their user's safety above their pride and try to hush up the whole thing.

As for me? Thankfully I am justified to say why I stay away from online gaming now.

Indifferent. My PSN password is different from all my other ones, my debit card expires in May and I barely use the PSN as often as I should be. Ahh, the joys of offline gaming and owning multiple consoles.

What Pisses me off is that at no point does sony inform you your credit card details will be stored (at least no where I could find)...Names, address, DOB I can understand.
Most places will get rid of the details and make you re-enter them again (heck even when I did use my Card on the website I had retype my details every time) because of the risk of hacking...

I don't blame Sony for the hacking...it was always a risk...I am annoyed at them for other reasons (an almost $500 loss and many angry phone calls being a few)
