and also yeah ok now I have a NEGATIVE number of reasons not to.
except the wig I have left is a party wig, and has big spaces between the rows of hair. Which means bald patches with short-ish hair. And with Karkat's forward-flowing hair? sugar honey iced tea I would be the god of bald. :,D

Any cheap wig suggestions?

even with some quality wigs you may get a sparse spot in the back depending on the wig. it's all in how you arrange the fibers, i guess, and definitely get a black hose-material wigcap to go under it so the sparser bits are not as obvious.
for reference new look's punky wig styled into spikes. (i got this wig a couple years back when it was still the go-to wig for spikes-- there are now thicker wigs that would work a lot better.) in the photo there are some rather obvious sparse bits, but people tell me it's not obvious IRL when i'm wearing the wig.
YMMV???

EDIT: also here, yoinking a photo from arda-wigs. most decent to good quality wigs look like that on the inside. the shape of the lace on the top of the head varies though, depending on the style of the wig.
