But I presume that this is just a proposed layout at this stage, since admin specifically asked for suggestions/comments on it.
And Duckeh are you saying people can start rants threads, just in the news discussions forum?
Also is the lack of mafia due to chch people dropping out after the quake, or was it nationwide earlier than that? |

| No, it's a definite layout, not just a proposal. This is more of a "here's what's happening, fyi - if you have something to say we might take it into consideration".
People can't start 'rant threads' in the same way they do now, but if they want to discuss an issue, they can. Eg., "Some jerks broke into my house!" = mini-rants or Facebook. "What motivates someone to commit crime?" = discussion.
That's the difference between Facebook/Livejournal and a Forum (which by dictionary definition is a place where ideas can be exchanged).
Lack of mafia was a nationwide thing before the quake.

Minour details aside, I think you are on the right track. I doubt that the lost threads will matter to most people. And there is still room for some interaction. |

| Oh - may I make a request regard to the CNZ auction - could we please leave the forum up until the buyers received their items? Reason being that otherwise it's too easy to forget, and I don't want people to feel ripped off.

| Okay, guys! This stuff is happening fo realz! We've brought it forward a day because it's a bit more convenient for us, so this will now be happening tomorrow night.
That is, at 10.30pm NZT on Thursday the 14th of April.
As mentioned in the OP, there'll be an official tinychat put up if you wanna hang out whilst we work, and we'll probably be lurking as we're working. Whilst we're making the changes though, the forum will be down for maintenance, so anyone who needs to save any info from PMs or threads that they might need to access during that time should do so now.
Fingers crossed, all goes smoothly, and we'll see you on the flipside!
