CNZ YULETIDE TOURNAMENT
Love Christmas? Love cosplay? Want to prove your mettle against the rest of NZ?

A spectacle of a scale which has yet to be seen on the CNZ forums, it's with great excitement that we announce the CNZ Yuletide Tournament, the first in what will hopefully be a bi-annual event! With a range of challenges, this is a competition between the different sections of CNZ ;
Auckland, Wellington, NCIS [ Palmerston North + Hamilton + Tauranga etc. ] and CSI [Christchurch + Dunedin + Picton etc.]

Just what does this competition involve, then?

Good thing you asked! There'll be a number of challenges set with different deadlines to submit by, spanning a range of activities. When all the sections have entered their submissions for a particular challenge, they will then be judged by an impartial party and points will be awarded to a running total-- which means you're not only competing against the rest of NZ for the luls, but also your PRIDE. (Jokes.) The total is then reviewed on the 24th of December, and the winner will be announced on Christmas.
There's also a rumor there'll be a trophy for the section that wins... incentive? You decide.

Each section will also get their own 'plotting' thread for the sake of keeping things in the semblance of organization, to plan how they're going to overcome the challenges set.

When does it start?

The CNZYT will begin at 12:00am on November the 24th, 2010 and will finish at 11:59pm on December the 24th, 2010. That's a whole month of leeway to get ideas flowing, people together and to drag cosplays out of the closet!

THIS MEANS THE FIRST CHALLENGES WILL BE POSTED ON NOV 24TH.

... why Nov. 24th?

BECAUSE THAT'S CNZ'S ANNIVERSARY!

Who can enter?

EVERYONE ON CNZ. In fact, everyone should enter, because while this is under the guise of a competetion, it's more about getting the community together (especially in areas where they wouldn't otherwise do so), communicating with each other and doing what we love-- cosplay! Just make sure you put your name down on the sign-up!

Who are the incumbent winners?

WELLINGTON CURRENTLY HOLDS THE TITLE.

RULES. I KNEW THIS WAS COMING.

1. You must only belong to one group (NCIS, Auckland etc.). Anyone caught group switching will be immediately disqualified, because... that kinda defeats the point.

2. Some of these challenges will involve being in public places-- please use your discretion and act sensibly, as the last thing we want to do is give CNZ a bad name. As always, behaviour in the public eye is important and we know it's easy to get a bit crazy while in costume, but just keep in mind there are limits. (:

3. If you're going to enter, please do as much as you can! Motivate others in your area! Put forth your ideas! This is all about having some fun, and without participation, obviously it's not going to go that well.

4. Review the rules for each set challenge, just in case something special is required.
