I'm going to Spotlight tomorrow and I'm thinking of buying vinyl for the belts and gloves and stuff(tho I WILL be asking the people there for recommendations on what to use that n00bs can work with). That said, I don't know what to make the shoulder and knee pads out of. Ohai. So, I was wondering, does anybody know where you can get red coloured contact lenses in Auckland? Or like, in nz but delivered or something? I'm looking for non-opaque (but still quite strong) ones, preferably with a opaque black ring around the outsite. Any help would be much appreciated~ Or maybe something like these, with an enlarged pupil?

I've decided to (at some point in the future) cosplay as Misaki Yamamoto from Hatsukoi Limited >_< Problem is, Misaki is rather... well-endowed. Not to the hentai extent of "well endowed" but certainly bigger than my poor chest this is why I crossplay.... Barring waiting another 5 or so years to "develop" (the immature part of me [no pun intended] is lol'ing at how awkward this seems to post) does anyone know any ways to make the bust look bigger? I have a few questions regarding polar fleece... I'm working on a Gijinka version of Happy and... Spoiler: I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out how I could attach the white belly bit on. All my fabrics are polar fleece, namely the white, the blue and the pink bits. Can you appliqu� that piece onto polar fleece? Of course I'm not going to use an adhesive like Heat'n'Bond to fix it in place, since fleece is heat sensitive, I'm planning to do a loose zigzag stitch instead. Otherwise, ...

Right, CNZers. Most of you know I can't sew very well, I buy most of my cosplays. I'm planning onto cosplay Near from Death Note, I've gotten the shirt for him, but does anyone know where I can get his pants? Uploaded with ImageShack.us So as you can see it's like... Very quickly need advice! I bought purple material for Bernkastel's bow...but now looking at other cosplayers and such, everyone does her bow BLUE. I'm making the cosplay tonight (needing it for tomorrow) and I'm not sure if I should make her bows blue or purple! Here's the image I've been working off~ Spoiler: So, blue or purple?! making hems straight

So I was trying to hem my shirt tonight and discovered while trying it on that it's much longer in the back then the front. The only problem is that when all edges of the hem are put together (not while wearing) it's all even - is the only way to make it straight while wearing is to get someone else to even it up? If so then I'm possibly screwed as I don't have anyone close at hand to help...

I did some Near cosplay and I'm not sure where to put it :D

Sewing machine issues

I'm not sure where this goes, so bear with me.

I just got a sewing machine for my birthday, brand new, simple to use. It worked fine for a little while, but now when I go to sew a line the needle stops moving, appears to be getting stuck somehow. You can't move the needle up either. To make the needle get unstuck you have to pull out the bobbin pieces, like the spindle n stuff. I'm really a n00b but how do I fix this @_@

Constructive critisiums are welcomed. These are Black shiny pleather, lined with 100% Cotton broadcloth. There is rigaline boning in the lining to help support it. The chains are jewelry chains. Giant bow

I'm making a giant bow (about half a metre each way) and have no idea how to do it or where to start!! It's a floppy one so I don't need wire.. does anyone know where I can get a pattern, or something? I don't have enough material to do trial and error which is my usual way of figuring things out, and I'm going abit mental!

Raised Detail on fabric

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on how to do raised detail on fabric? I was thinking of cutting the shapes out of craft foam, painting it then attaching it to the costume, would that work? And what sort of adhesive should I use? I wanna explore my options before I do anything, like I've seen people use hot glue to 'draw' out detail on armour, does that work for fabric? (the fabric I'm using is cotton drill) I don't trust 3-D paint, tried it before it wasn't consistent enough/barely anything ...

So, I was looking around my city, and the taffeta was WAY too expensive for me.
Especially since I need 4.6 metres and have no job.

Therefore - does anyone know any websites or places, preferrably in New Zealand, where I can get cheap taffeta? As in, less than $15 per metre.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!
